Leading crypto exchange Bitfinex has announced the public release of its new mobile app. The software had previously been in a private beta testing phase, since October 2018.

The new Bitfinex App was designed to meet the demands of customers “for trading on the go that fitted seamlessly within our professional traders’ busy lifestyles, minimising the risk of missed opportunities”.

Bitfinex’s approach to development of its new mobile version is apparently “to always remain in beta, upgrading over time to meet the evolving needs of our customers”. Customer feedback will be an important part of the development process. If comments on Twitter are anything to go by, feedback hasn’t been overwhelmingly positive so far.
My app has been unable to connect to the network, I mentioned this problem in the test and you have not solved it! My iPhone network is normal, the old version of the app can connect to the network! pic.twitter.com/1ZHgzbKG83

Seamlessly? Far from it.
More like “super laggy and not usable”

The jury may still be out on this new app, but some other recent developments haven’t contributed positively to Bitfinex’s reputation. The exchange was down for a few hours on February 9, apparently due to technical issues. Predictably, the accusations of market manipulation that have have been levelled at the exchange in the past emerged once again. Bitfinex was also one of the last trading platforms to get on board with the BitTorrent Token (BTT) airdrop that has been arranged for TRX holders.
