SEA-TAC, Wash. – Travel season is well on its way according to the TSA’s spring break travel projections, which means more lines and less leg room.

The uptick in travelers departing Sea-Tac Airport began this week, when 60,000 people are expected through the security checkpoints. If you’re looking to avoid the rush, the busiest days are projected to be Thursdays and Fridays, as well as Sundays and Mondays for the next month.

April 5 is set to be the busiest of the busy days, with 62,000 expected to be screened, with the highest usage during 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The TSA will be offering additional hours and overtime to TSA officers to accommodate the added usage. Additionally, the recently opened Paine Field will be increasing its volume of departing flights to 24 beginning March 31, when United Airlines starts commercial air service.
