Election watch: Congress wants inquiry into Yeddyurappa ‘diary’ seized by income tax officials – Scroll.in

A report in The Caravan alleged that central BJP leaders, judges and advocates were paid more than Rs 1,800 crore by Karnataka state chief BS Yeddyurappa. The Congress sought an independent inquiry into the allegations.

Sam Pitroda, a confidant of Congress President Rahul Gandhi and chief of Indian Overseas Congress, was criticised for questioning the Balakot air strike which was launched in response to the Pulwama terror attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Pitroda had demeaned the armed forces.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Friday joined the BJP.
