Free workshop and networking for manufacturers – Chronicle

THE Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre will host a free workshop and networking event in Toowoomba for local manufacturing businesses on February 21.

AMGC is a federally-funded, industry-led, not-for-profit organisation charged with growing the Australian manufacturing industry.

Through the delivery of world-leading research, networking events, a Manufacturing Academy and grant funding, the AMGC has established a strong and active membership base and list of manufacturing projects delivering local in service of jobs and growth.

Part of the AMGC’s focus is to engage with local manufacturers in their region and to brief them on opportunities and insights relevant to them.

The events are free and a great way for local businesses to meet and share their experiences.

The Toowoomba networking and workshop event is being supported by The Queensland University of Technology and will introduce a range of industry speakers and feature Australia’s first Manufacturing Academy, plus explore opportunities to network with regional companies, research partners, and business mentors.

Attendees can also learn more about grants and funding opportunities for Australian manufacturing companies, as well as hear from AMGC national director industry Michael Sharpe, Professor in Robotics at the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Hub Jonathan Roberts, and industry engagement partner at IBSA Manufacturing Mark Shaddock.

The event will begin at the City Golf Club at 8am on February 21 and will conclude by 10.30am.
