Gaming Brands Like Lego Excite Customers Through VR Storytelling – PSFK

Nintendo Labo
In 2018, The gaming giant released interactive model kits, called Nintendo Labo. The new release is for its Switch console, which requires players to assemble cardboard sets that interact with gaming content on the Switch. The Labo VR addition to the product line offers virtual reality content and includes VR goggles (made from cardboard) along with five additional attachments like a blaster gun. The brand combines both interactive gaming with a physical building aspect.

Lego Hidden Side
With its new AR-based toy line, Lego Hidden Side, kids can construct sets out of Lego (in a traditional building block fashion) and then use the Lego Playground app to follow a storyline using their creations.

Qualcomm
Telecommunications company Qualcomm announced that it is developing XR viewer headsets that combine the mobile LTE computing power of its Snapdragon 855 platform with 5G networks to facilitate mobile VR and AR experiences. Announced at Mobile World Conference Barcelona, the headset will be connected to a smartphone by USB-C, while content would be streamed over a 5G connection.
