A mobile medical trailer is one step closer to serving rural areas in Nueces county.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by county commissioners in Robstown this morning, along with a mini health fair.

The purpose of the medical trailer is to provide residents in economically distressed areas of South Texas an enhanced quality of life by offering various health services.

“We’re going to go out and do things that have never been done before,” said commissioner Joe A. Gonzalez. “A mobile medical trailer is one step closer to serving rural areas in nueces county.”

The medical trailer was built by students at Texas A&M University thanks to a gift from the school’s College Station Colonias Program and the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District will be in charge of managing health services.

The mobile medical clinic will be making its way around the county. See when and where it’ll be closest to you in 2020:

  • March 9-14: Banquete Community Center, 4359 Fourth St.
  • March 23-28: Johnny Calderon County Building, 710 E. Main, Robstown
  • April 20-25: Petronila Elementary, 2391 County Road 67, Robstown
  • May 18-23: Driscoll Community Center, 200 East 6th Street
  • July 20-25: La Nueva Jerusalem Iglesia, 2615 Tierra Poniente Circle, Robstown
  • Aug. 24-29: Bishop Multipurpose Room, 115 S. Ash
