Man, 20, fatally shot in Clayton County mobile home park – Atlanta Journal Constitution

A 20-year-old man who was hanging out with two friends was shot and killed while parked in a vacant driveway inside a mobile home park, Clayton County police said Thursday.

Dakota Farr’s heartbroken mother, Amber Grigsby, has been handing out flyers since his Jan. 2 death in an attempt to learn who shot her son and why.

“He didn’t deserve this. He didn’t deserve to be shot and killed,” Grigsby told Channel 2 Action News. “It’s just something I wouldn’t even want my worst enemy to have to ever go through.”

Farr died after the shooting in the 700 block of Hillside Drive off Lake Spivey Parkway in unincorporated Stockbridge, police said in a statement.

When officers arrived on the scene about 4:30 a.m., Farr flagged them down and said he had been shot. He was rushed to Southern Regional Medical Center but later died.

Police determined Farr was sitting inside his vehicle when he was shot. His friends, whose names were not released, were also injured and taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.

“Three victims were shot at from an unknown subject for no apparent reason,” police said.

Grigsby said her family lives in Spalding County, and they aren’t sure why he and his friends were at the Clayton County mobile home park early that morning.

“I’ll never be the same,” she told Channel 2. “I know my life will never be the same, but I think it will help a lot to heal.”
