Castlevania ranks up there with Super Mario as one of the most memorable video games ever, and a new iteration of the side-scrolling action RPG has been soft-launched in Canada ahead of a worldwide release. If you want to try out the game on your iPhone before everyone else, there’s a simple hack to try.
Fittingly named Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, Konami’s classic hack-and-slash fantasy game has gotten updated console quality visuals and audio, along with fluid touch controls, all while keeping familiar elements like side-scrolling gameplay and the dark, Gothic atmosphere that made it so endearing to gamers of all ages.
Grimoire of Souls also comes with all the usual features you’d find in a modern day mobile RPG. You can unlock characters like the iconic whip-wielding Simon Belmont and Charlotte the spell caster, in addition to skills and perks that can be had through leveling up in-game progression. You can even team up with other players via co-op gameplay for even more demon-slaying fun.
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is currently only available in Canada as a soft launch, which is a common practice when studios want to beta test a game without making it available globally. However, you can easily bypass Apple’s region restrictions and play this latest Castlevania title in any region.
