Rebel MLAs left from Mumbai after Speaker Ramesh Kumar announced their disqualification – Bangalore Mirror

Rebel MLAs from Karnataka began their journey for Bengaluru soon after Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar announced their disqualification on Sunday.

These MLAs are now in a private resort close to Lonavala. After their arrival, they stayed in Hotel Sofitel in Bandra Kurla Complex and were later moved to Hotel Renaissance in Powai.

On July 10, Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar protested outside Hotel Renaissance. Later they were moved to a resort near Lonavala. BJP MLC Prasad Lad, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha chief Mohit Kambhoj and BJP leader Jatin Desai looked after them.

After the disqualification, MLAs Shivram Hebbar, Pratapgouda Patil, Shrimant Patil, H Nagesh (Indepenent) left from Mumbai and ST Somashekhar, BA Basavraj, MTB Nagaraj and Munirathna Naidu (Congress) left from Pune.

Other MLAs – KC Narayana Gowda, K Gopalaiah, AH Vishwanath of Janata Dal (Secular) and BC Patil (Congress) will leave on Monday morning for Bengaluru, mostly via Mumbai.

Speaking to
Mirror, one of the MLAs said, “The Speakers decision to disqualify us is unconstitutional. It is a hasty decision. Now Supreme Court can save us.”
