Little Rock police are investigating after a man threatened to shoot a pawn shop employee in a robbery Friday.

Officers were called at 2:34 p.m. to Braswell & Son Pawnbroker at 8302 Baseline Road, east of Interstate 30. An employee, Josh Davis, 45, said a man had taken an Apple laptop computer valued at $1,300 and fled, according to a police report. Davis said he grabbed the man and tried to stop him. As the two struggled over the computer in the parking lot, the thief reportedly threatened to shoot Davis.

The robber then got into a car and drove away, according to the report.

Police said Davis suffered cuts, bruises and possibly a broken collarbone in the confrontation. He was treated at the scene.

The robber is described as black, 5-feet-6 and 150 pounds. He wore a dark-colored hoodie, dark-colored jeans, gloves and a black bandana. He reportedly fled in a white Dodge Challenger with red rims and a red spoiler.

Police said a customer at the pawn shop, Calen Peters, 21, was arrested when he tried to leave the business. The arrest happened after an officer told customers that the pawn shop was a crime scene and that they would “have to stay put for a while,” according to the report. An officer grabbed Peters and told him he needed to stay, but Peters pulled away and kept walking, the report says. Two officers then “took Peters to the ground” and arrested him.

Peters was charged with obstructing governmental operations and refusal to submit to arrest.
