Talk about Travel – The – Washington Post

Every time my immediate family visits western Washington state (where both me and my wife have family), it is a dining experience, with the usual destinations (the Pike Place Market for produce and fish, Ivar’s for local fish and chips, the Old Spaghetti Factory for the nostalgia). The highlight of our visits every time, though, is when all the family members, from both my wife’s side and mine, get together and head to one of the Din Tai Fung (Chinese dumplings) locations in the Seattle area. We introduced the tradition years ago as a result of our living in Asia and having been to the chain’s locations in Singapore, and everyone looks forward to the meal. The family members that live there now go and eat there without us on occasion, and they make sure we hear all about it…
