The UConn football program added junior college safety Diamond Harrell to its constantly changing roster.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Harrell comes to UConn after recording 16 tackles as a sophomore at Los Angeles Valley College. He had five tackles in a loss to Chaffey on Oct. 13 and his lone interception in 2018 was in a win over LA Southwest.

Harrell has the size to play safety or the safety/linebacker hybrid position.

UConn coach Randy Edsall posted on social media about three recent additions to the 2019 roster. Former FIU kicker Sean Young has also committed, according to a Storrs Central report.

Young finished eighth among FBS players with an 81.4 touchback percentage as 48 of his 59 kickoffs resulted in touchbacks last season. He also had 33 touchbacks on 59 kickoffs in 2017. UConn finished 91st among 130 FBA teams in touchback percentage in 2018.

Young was 25 of 27 on extra points but only 2 of 8 on field goals as a sophomore as ASA College before landing at FIU. As a senior at Admiral Farragut High School, he was 10 for 12 on field goals and also averaged 41.5 yards per punt.
