US-bound OnePlus 7T Pro leaks out, Android 10 and other features revealed – PhoneArena

OnePlus has made a habit out of releasing two generations of flagship phones per year, and this isn’t changing in 2019. Thus, after launching the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro back in May, the company is now preparing the introduction of OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. Last week, we saw renders showing the 7T, and today we have the chance to take a good look at the 7T Pro, thanks to renders published by 91mobiles and @OnLeaks.
As you can see in the images embedded above and below, the OnePlus 7T Pro looks very much like the OnePlus 7 Pro, from its front and pop-up selfie camera, to its sides and rear. But the regular 7T Pro will be joined by a 7T Pro McLaren Edition, which is also pictured in the newly-leaked renders – this has a distinctive pattern on the back and an orange/golden trim that’s visible towards the bottom of the device.

Unchanged design, but (some) upgraded specs

Since the OnePlus 7T Pro is only an incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 7 Pro, it won’t bring too many novelties when it comes to specs. According to leakster Max J (who has provided plenty of accurate information in the past), the OnePlus 7T Pro has the same 6.7-inch curved display of the 7 Pro, offering 1440 x 3120 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the next-gen device comes with roughly similar amounts of RAM (starting at 8 GB), and similar amounts of storage space (starting at 256 GB, although the McLaren Edition may have a version with 128 GB). The new phone should further bring a familiar triple rear camera setup – 48 MP main + 12 MP ultrawide + 8 MP with 3x optical zoom – albeit with improved software for superior image quality.
The OnePlus 7T Pro is getting a boost in processing power thanks to Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset – this is slightly faster than the Snapdragon 855 found inside the OnePlus 7 Pro, while also providing enhanced GPU capabilities (that’s good news for gamers). Another change is related to battery capacity, as the 7T Pro is expected to pack a 4085 mAh battery that’s a tad larger than the 4000 mAh unit of the 7 Pro.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus processor should also power the OnePlus 7T. However, this handset will only have a 6.55-inch flat display with 1080 x 2440 pixels and a 3800 mAh battery. Overall, the 7T will be a cheaper, less advanced variant of the 7T Pro.

The first OnePlus phones to run Android 10 at launch

Reportedly, both the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro will run Android 10 out of the box. Among other things, Android 10 will bring native support for 5G, native dark mode, and live captions (available for any video, offline or online). Of course, OnePlus will dress Android 10 in its very own virtual clothes, aka Oxygen OS.

OnePlus 7T Pro release date and price

The OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro, and 7T Pro McLaren Edition should be officially announced in September or October and released shortly thereafter. Just like the OnePlus 7 Pro (which is currently sold unlocked as well as via T-Mobile and Sprint), the 7T Pro will almost certainly be widely available in the US. Most likely, prices for the new handset won’t start below $669, since that’s the current starting price of the OnePlus 7 Pro.

It’s unclear if the OnePlus 7T Pro will be joined by the less impressive OnePlus 7T in the states. Nevertheless, since the non-Pro variant of the OnePlus 7 did not officially make it to the US, we’re kind of expecting the same thing to happen with the non-Pro 7T.
