Wichita State University has announced plans to
expand its cybersecurity program.
The university’s College of Engineering is developing the program which will serve students pursuing cybersecurity degrees, as well as industry professionals wanting to learn how to protect their companies.
Wichita State hired Lincoln Schroeder, a cybersecurity specialist who recently retired after serving in the Air Force for 22 years.
Schroeder is an engineering educator in the Department of Engineering Technology.
“There’s so much growth areas in cybersecurity, not only are businesses wanting to have better cybersecurity for their own purposes but the cyber security industry itself is growing in Wichita as well,” Schroeder says.
Wichita State’s cybersecurity-degree programs are being developed to conform to the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.
