A women who allegedly stole items from multiple victims at area nursing homes was arrested and booked into Mobile County Metro Jail Saturday, according to the Mobile Police Department.
Sherrita Sawyer was charged with eight counts of second-degree burglary and 10 counts of third-degree burglary, said MPD spokeswoman Charlette Solis.
On Friday, Solis said in an email to area news organizations that a woman was seen entering and exiting nursing homes in images captured by surveillance cameras. Solis also gave details about several recent burglaries, in which items were stolen from nursing homes.
The facilities included Ashland Place Health and Rehabilitation at 148 Tuscaloosa St., Crown Place at 3720 Dauphin St., Springhill Manor Nursing Home at 3900 Old Shell Road and Dauphin Way Assisted Living at 3085 Dauphin Square Connector. Items taken include wallets, a phone and jewelry, Solis said.
