In July 2017, we launched a Facebook group called Women Who Travel, a space for all self-identifying women to share their travel stories, offer advice, and form a community of like-minded women. Today, we’re some 130,000 members strong—and we’re taking our Facebook group on the road. Welcome to the Women Who Travel meetup series!
Earlier this month, the Women Who Travel team headed to Austin for our seventh meetup, after a whirlwind year that included stops from Miami to Denver. Now, we’re gearing up for next month’s event just a few states away. We’re heading to Nashville!
We never need an excuse to spend time elbow deep in Hattie B’s hot chicken, but we’ll take one when we can get it. The city, which we like to describe as “South, Lite” is just that—a little bit of country, and a whole lot of personality. Like Austin, the culture is anchored in Southern tradition—think cowboy boots, good ol’ fashioned hospitality, and flowing whiskey—but is guided by a wave of young creatives, with an burgeoning art scene, James Beard Award-winning chefs, and design-forward hotels worth paying attention to. And of course, it’s got an insanely rich music history (ever heard of the Grand Ole Opry?).
Whether you’re a Nashville local, or an out-of-towner looking for a reason to visit, we hope you’ll join us for a few hours on April 18. We’ll spend the evening swapping travel stories and trading tips, and hopefully head home with enough trip inspo to get us to summer. You may even find some new travel buddies game for that adventure you’ve been waiting to book. This event will be hosted by Condé Nast Traveler editors Megan Spurrell and Meredith Carey, and is open to all self-identifying women who travel. If you’d like to get to know us beforehand, feel free to join the Facebook group as well—we’re a lively bunch, and there’s plenty of room for more.
