(KNSI) – A local business is working to empower women through networking. Clothes Mentor of St. Cloud hosts monthly meetings known as World of Women.
“The organization was designed as a means for women to network and find support for one another, as well as educate each other,” said Lavonne Rykhus, owner of Clothes Mentor in St. Cloud.
November will mark two years since the start of World of Women.
“We invite women from the community to join us at the meetings, they are free, and every month the topic changes. It all pertains to something surrounding women uplifting, networking, empowering, and things of that sort.”
The month of November will focus on female veterans with guest speaker Major Mohs, a highly decorated veteran. December will focus on a local family who has been adopted by Clothes Mentor as the “Christmas Family.” January is about mental, physical, and spiritual health, while February is about self-love.
“Every month has a different topic, and it changes all the time, but that’s our focus. Everything surrounding women within the community and how we can give back to the women in the community.”
World of Women was started by Lavonne’s daughter, Katelyn Rykhus, after graduating college.
“She started this organization as a way for women in the community to meet and network without having to do the bar scene. I’m just helping her grow it here in St. Cloud because that’s where it was launched, but she’s spreading it nationwide.”
Katelyn has her branch based out of the twin cities.
Women of all ages are welcome to join the conversation.
The next meeting will be hosted on Wednesday, November 6th, at 5:30 p.m. in Midtown Square Mall. Please RSVP by Tuesday, November 5th via the World of Women Facebook page, Clothes Mentor Facebook Page or by calling Clothes Mentor at 320-252-2026
